Memories of a Dirt Road Town A fifth grade school teacher in southern Illinois, Develyn Worrell s nightmare begins one summer when she discovers her husband s infidelity She divorces him without ever telling her twenty one year old daughter why Although Devvy has a heart change and desires for reconciliation, he dies before she can tell him of her desire The daughter blames her mother for her father s death Memories of a Dirt Road Town begins the story the following summer Brokenhearted about her husband s death and her daughter s decision not to come home for the summer, Devvy decides to find a little dirt road town in Wyoming where she had vacationed as a child She remembers fondly the sunset and a beautiful Roan horse Upon arrival, Devvy purchases a Roan mare and a burro, rents a little cabin, and watches as God brings three very important men into her life I am so enjoying this story, that I m already halfway into the second book of this triology This would make a wonderful Lifetime movie its got so much happening that you don t want to put it down and you want to get right into the next book Very well written and very interesting and love the humorous partsI am interesting in seeing what else this author has written This is the modern day trek of a 45 year old Indiana schoolteacher to find the little Wyoming town where she spent her favorite vacation when she was 10 She thinks she s on a journey to recover from some hard turns in her life, but she has no idea what is in store If these were not written by a man I would be tempted to call them western chic lit, but as it is they just happen to be so fun that you feel like you are right there, learning alongside Develyn as God helps her reconcile her past, l This is the modern day trek of a 45 year old Indiana schoolteacher to find the little Wyoming town where she spent her favorite vacation when she was 10 She thinks she s on a journey to recover from some hard turns in her life, but she has no idea what is in store If these were not written by a man I would be tempted to call them western chic lit, but as it is they just happen to be so fun that you feel like you are right there, learning alongside Develyn as God helps her reconcile her past, learn from and embrace the now, and let Him be in charge of the future I felt that the characters I could relate to were well written and the relationships true to life and you re missing out if you ve never heard about a watch burro The two sequels help wrap up Devy s story Very easy to read and heartwarming story about a woman going back to the place of a favorite childhood memory family vacation..she just takes off with no real plan very brave and by herself not sure I could do that but would like to think I could The main character is a middle aged school teacher who discovers who she is and most importantlyyou have to find the joy in life Live life Most of the story did take place in Wyoming with horses which may be one of the reasons I liked it go Very easy to read and heartwarming story about a woman going back to the place of a favorite childhood memory family vacation..she just takes off with no real plan very brave and by herself not sure I could do that but would like to think I could The main character is a middle aged school teacher who discovers who she is and most importantlyyou have to find the joy in life Live life Most of the story did take place in Wyoming with horses which may be one of the reasons I liked it got some of that Wyoming clay dirt in my blood The writing was ok This is the first book in a series and I may have to read the next one to find out what happens I loved this book and this series Such a great story Jesus, romance, and cowboys..I don t think it can get any better This is one of my all time favorite booksI have read it read it again and again, and it still makes me smile and I still get worried at the suspenseful parts Amazing book about what love really is and how much of an adventure you can have when you just let go.It reminds you that your life is never over and you don t have to settle for less. Could not put this book down I started this morning and just finished I can t wait to start the next book and seen who the school teacher falls for.
